This Enneagram character fixation is the veil in which reality appears causing an individual to appear separate and believing that there is a need to protect that separateness. The way it protects itself is particular to the character fixation that appears in the DNA structure. What has been revealed is that consciousness itself that is appearing as a fixation through a DNA/body actually just mistakes itself for the DNA/fixation/body yet all along the belief that consciousness IS the DNA/fixation/body is just an illusion that is played on the ‘individual’. In reality there is no individual but only consciousness appearing as millions of ‘individuals’ who have mistakenly taken on an identity as an individual! It is this mistaken identity as a separate individual that causes all the greed, aggression, suffering of the world. This is why there is world war. Until the mistaken identities awaken to true nature as conscious awareness itself, there will be suffering in "it’s" life. 

There is the possibility for every identity to be aware of what is present without the belief in the identity - what is present always in every moment. If one really stopped and inquired they would realize that before they had an ‘identity’, before they responded to their name, before they had preferences or a favorite color, before all that, they just were here. Empty, conscious, beingness is just here regardless of the body it appears in. We all know this. We’ve all experienced this at least one moment in our life. However, the dissolution of one’s identity occurred as this experience was present. This causes a panic to the ego and a thought arises such as, “Where was I” or “Whew, let’s get back to reality.” The irony is consciousness IS the only true reality! It’s the scurrying back into an identity that is not reality.
 
You are not your identity. Your identity is merely a way to get around in the world to differentiate this body from that body. But it is not who we truly are. Who we are is immortal consciousness that lives and breathes everything!
There is only ONE continuous Life- Formlessness - that manifests itself as all form.
